It’s time for some JOY!

I’m so excited to let you know that a new fabric collection of mine with Michael Miller Fabrics starts shipping to stores in a matter of days. Get ready for JOY!

JOY celebrates that time of year when everything is in full bloom. It is a period of time when nature is working its magic creating endless visual inspiration. Personally, it is a time when I feel there to be an overabundance of potential and I feel the most alive and free… When I feel the most joyful!

The artwork for the collection was created, suitably, during the spring and summer when I, favourite sketch book in hand, would often wander through parks or forests or spend afternoons at home on our terrace under the trees, butterflies flitting around me. It is my hope that JOY exhibits the bountiful life that surrounded me during that time.

PRINTED ON HIGH DENSITY COTTON, that buttery-soft cotton that drapes so well in garments and makes such lovely quilts, JOY is comprised of 20 prints in two radiant colour ways that mix and match beautifully.

They also play well, both in terms of subject matter and color, with my 2016 collection, Nature Walk, a few fabrics of which are paired below on the right.

Please pop back in over the next few weeks as I share some beautiful projects created by other talented sewists out there and details on ones featured here and others I had in my Quilt Market booth.

Welcome to JOY!

Thanks Karen! You know, it wasn’t my intention that the 2 collections work together so well, but I guess I have a pallet that I love dearly That I tend toward. It wasn’t till after it was off to the mill that I realized the similarities.

Like Marrilee, I’m waiting for the Hawthorne Threads notification. I need a Tamara Kate fabric fix! Joy is gorgeous, and I’d already noticed how well it goes with my Nature Walk fabrics. Luckily, I usually get enough to ensure that I will have plenty fabric to play with after the requisite quilt. Looking forward to a Joyful spring!
