A Frolic Quilt by Shannon Fraser Designs

Posted by on May 30, 2017 in Blog, Frolic, Quilts

I was thrilled earlier this year when fellow Montreal Modern Quilt Guild member and maker of beautiful quilts, Shannon Fraser said YES to making a quilt with FROLIC.

Shannon’s clean design aesthetic can always be counted on in her work and she certainly didn’t disappoint with this stunner, Spring is in the Air.

Choosing to work with large pieces of fabric to show off the designs is a delightful way to work and oh-so-effective with the different tonal values in the FROLIC collection (and, as she points out in her blog post… quick!). And her graphic quilting is the perfect complement.

I just love how cheery and fresh this quilt is. Shannon has created a pattern for it which is available here and one lucky person can actually win a free pattern on Shannon’s blog post here. So run on over and enjoy all her pretty pictures and story telling along the way.

Oh, and Shannon’s binding fabric of choice? Tresse, which is available in 4 juicy colours and is just the perfect not-too-heavy finishing frame for this lovely piece.

Thanks for making such a gorgeous piece to showcase FROLIC, Shannon!
